The start-up Visavi Technology As (VISAVI) is receiving NOK 15 million in new capital from early stage investors Proventure and SINTEF TTO. Visavi has developed a system that facilitates easy visualisation of major and complex operations taking place at off- and onshore process facilities.

Visavi has a unique product with major global potential, together with a team displaying an impressive ability to implement its system. This is the type of company we like to invest in and want to develop further”, says Geir Ove Kjesbu, a partner at ProVenture, in a press release from Visavi.

Kjeller incubator gets Visavi off the ground

Visavi was launched by Kjeller Innovation and the Norwegian Institute for Energy Technology (IFE) in November 2014 following a verification project funded by the Research Council of Norway’s FORNY2020 programme. Kjeller Innovation’s incubator has assisted the company with its launch, recruitment, capital investment applications and business development.

“A well-equipped team, access to networks and, not least, a market-driven IT system has been crucial to Visavi’s success”, says Nils Haga, Incubator Manager at Kjeller Innovation.

New owners and fresh capital investment has led Haga to have great faith in the global roll-out of the product. The Borregaard manufacturing facilities in Sarpsborg are already using the system, and Aker BP and Neptune Energy are among Visavi’s clients.

About the system – LivePlan

The LivePlan system integrates data from many different sources and is used to facilitate visualisation of all available information on a screen, making it possible to plan, coordinate and carry out operations and maintenance activities safely and effectively. The system is interactive and is designed to be operated using large touch screens. This generates interest and involvement from the whole organisation. It is possible to modify operations immediately and directly from the screen and to compare resulting impacts in relation to factors such as available resources, materials and task conflicts. The modifications can then be transmitted back to the relevant IT systems involved. This is important functionality that contributes towards a more effective implementation of planned tasks that would not be possible without such a system.
